Deputy Commissioner Mir Shehak Baloch has said that books and libraries have great importance in the nation-building and put countries on the path to progress.
The administration of the Imperial Library deserves the credit for keeping the library functional despite limited resources and hurdles.
He was speaking at a function held on the occasion of one year completion of Imperial Library at Kaliwal Shaheed Chowk here. The event was attended by a large number of people and students from different walks of life.
“Zhob is a ‘fertile’ district, its youth proving their mettle in every field of life,” adding the library will soon be moved to a spacious government building, so that more and more book lovers can benefit from it,” DC Shehak vowed.
Shehzad Khan, administrator of the library, in his welcome note shed light on the role of library and its one-year performance.
He said the Imperial Library was quenching the thirst of hundreds of book-lover members on daily basis.
“The library remains open fourteen hours out of twenty-four hours, with a quiet serene atmosphere for reading as well as free internet service, electricity, newspapers, journals and computer lab facilities.
“Philanthropists in the city should financially support the administration to pay the utility bills timely and bear other expenses,” he demanded.
