The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed and COO Engineer Asadullah Khan on the occasion of new year 2025, extended their heartfelt greetings to the nation and the corporation’s officers and employees. They expressed optimism that the new year would bring new opportunities for the progress, prosperity, and strengthening of the national economy. They stated that despite limited resources, the KW&SC continues its relentless efforts to provide clean water and improve the sewage system for the city’s residents.
They promised further improvements in the coming year through reforms to ensure better water and sewage services throughout the city. KW&SC management hailed 2024 as a successful year for Water Corporation, highlighting key achievements, including the ongoing construction of the new Hub Canal and the restoration of the old Hub Canal, in collaboration with the Sindh government. This project is expected to significantly improve water supply to Karachi, especially in the Western and Keamari districts, with completion expected within the next eight months.
They also discussed the successful completion of 350 operations against water theft in the past year, which resulted in the dismantling of 275 illegal hydrants, disconnection of 1150 illegal water connections, and the arrest of 185 individuals. These efforts have added 25 million gallons of water to the corporation’s system, benefiting various areas of the city.
Thanks to effective strategies, Water Corporation increased its monthly revenue by 65 percent, rising from 1.10 billion to 1.86 billion, marking the highest revenue in its history. They urged citizens to support the corporation in improving water and sewage services and maintaining the beauty of the city.
