PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday approved 25 percent increase in the salaries of the government employees.
The 25 percent hike would be effective from July 1, 2024.
The sources said that the KP government gave approval through ad-hoc relief allowance. The provincial finance department also issued a notification saying that the KPK cabinet approved the increase via a circulation summary.
The move comes as part of the government’s efforts to align with the federal government’s and other provinces’ recent salaries’ increase.
Under the new scheme, the employees from Grade-1 to Grade-16 would get 25 per cent increase in their basic current salaries. The Officers from Grade-17 to Grade-22 would receive a 20% increase.
Earlier, the KPK government had announced a 10% salary increase in the budget.
However, to maintain parity with the central government and other provinces, the increase was now raised to 25%. The provincial assembly would seek an amendment to the Finance Bill 2024 to formalize the change.
