Sindh Assembly’s Opposition Leader Ali Khursheedi raised concerns about street crime during a notice session. He highlighted the disparity in the government’s response, noting, “The Sindh government provided compensation for deaths caused by toxic liquor, but no compensation is given for the young lives lost to street criminals.” Khursheedi called for compensation for the families of those killed by robbers during street crimes, stating that over 70 young people have been murdered. “The lives and futures of Karachi’s youth are being destroyed,” he said, lamenting that educated young individuals are being killed by criminals without any support or redress from the Sindh government.
