Activists and civil society members have demanded the restoration of status of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir along with Articles 370 and 35 A in their original forms.

The activists talking to media in Srinagar said Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognised disputed territory while Indian government is violat-ing international laws by dint of military might. Amid an atmosphere of fear and harassment, they said, the people of Jammu and Kashmir are not even allowed raise voice for the restoration of their Iden-tity, which was illegally and democratically snatched by the Hindutva government in India.

The activists warned that peace would remain elusive until India takes immediate steps to reinstate a sense of entitlement in the people of Jammu and Kashmir by restoring their democratic rights.

At present, IIOJK gives a picture of a virtual prison and a graveyard.

After August 2019, the targeted killings of civil-ians, arrest of political leaders and activists have in-creased manifold ,they added.—KMS
