KARACHI – More widespread rains with heavy falls and gusty winds are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and most parts of Sindh on Friday night and Saturday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), deep depression over Rann of Kutch coast, India & adjoining northeast Arabian Sea has moved westward and intensified into a cyclonic storm “ASNA”. It lies at around Latitude 23.5 N & Longitude 67.9 E at about 170km south/southeast of Karachi and 88km south of Kati Bandar. The system is likely keep moving initially west/northwestwards.
Under these conditions, widespread rains with gusty winds are expected across Sindh on Friday night and Saturday.
Scattered heavy to very heavy and isolated extremely heavy falls are likely in Karachi division, Tharparker, Badin, Thatta, Sajawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allah Yar, Matiari, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Jamshoro, Dadu and Shaheed Benazirabad districts.
Heavy rains may generate flash flooding in local nullahs/streams of Karachi, Hyderabad and Dadu.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 28-30°C on Saturday and 29-31°C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, rains with isolated heavy falls occurred in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts Sindh.
