K-Electric (KE) has announced the launch of the 4th edition of the KHI Awards 2025, with applications now open from December 1, 2024. This initiative aims to celebrate and promote institutional-level philanthropy, recognizing not-for-profit organizations, social enterprises, and other entities that are driving social and environmental change in Karachi, as well as areas in Sindh and Balochistan, including Dhabeji, Gharo, Uthal, Vinder, and Bela.
The KHI Awards, which have been successfully running since 2021, align with KE’s commitment to fostering collaboration and building a stronger, more united community across various sectors. Over the past three editions, 110 million in electricity rebates were processed, and 108 organizations have been recognized for their impactful work in improving lives in multiple categories.
This year, the awards will feature 14 categories, encompassing a diverse range of areas such as healthcare, education, women empowerment, safety, sustainability, and more.
These categories reflect KE’s focus on supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference in local communities. Last year, the awards saw an impressive 150 entries, further solidifying the platform’s credibility in celebrating social impact.
The awards are open to institutions of all sizes, ranging from small community groups to large organizations. The theme for this year’s awards, “The Spirit of Service for a Brighter Environment”, emphasizes the importance of collaboration in creating a sustainable and vibrant future.
KE aims to inspire a culture of helping and supporting Karachi’s diverse communities, showcasing the remarkable contributions of those working to improve lives and build a better city.
KE will ensure a transparent and unbiased selection process, with an independent jury of experts evaluating all entries. Organizations are invited to submit their projects under the category most aligned with their initiatives, and be part of a movement dedicated to building a brighter, more sustainable future for Karachi.
