ISLAMABAD – Rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Friday evening/night.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from Arabian Sea penetrates central and southern parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave prevails over upper and central parts of the country.
Under these conditions, wind/thunderstorm-rains are likely in the twin cities, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Northeast Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Central/Southern Punjab and Upper Sindh on Friday evening/night.
On Saturday and Sunday, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, win/thunderstorm-rains are expected at isolated places in northeast Balochistan, South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Central/South Punjab, Upper Sindh, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between on 38-40°C Saturday and 41-43°C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely remain between 37-39°C on Saturday and 38-40°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, widespread wind/thunderstorm-rains occurred in upper Sindh, Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Turbat remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. Maximum temperature in Dalbandin and Jiwani was recorded at 42°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 38°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 59 percent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 52 percent.
