ISLAMABAD – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted scattered rains with snowfall over mountains for Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan during the weekend.
According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting Balochistan and upper Sindh. It is likely to affect upper parts of Pakistan from tonight.
Under these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorm with snowfall over mountains is expected in Balochistan, Sindh, south Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir on Friday evening/night. Wet spell will likely continue across Pakistan on Saturday and Sunday.
Isolated heavy falls/snowfall are likely in Balochistan. Heavy rainfall may cause flash flooding in local nullahs of Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Dalbandin and Khuzdar on Friday evening/night and Saturday.
Islamabad’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 01-03 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 02-04 C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 03-05 C on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, light rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over mountains occurred in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, northern Punjab, Murree and Astore during the last 24 hours. Fog prevailed over few plain areas of south Punjab and upper Sindh.

In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 01 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 91 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 03 C. Relative humidity during the morning was recorded at 70 per cent.
