Iran has registered a new daily Covid caseload record, the health ministry has announced, as strict limitations to curb its spread went into ef-fect in the capital Tehran, AFP reports.
In the past 24 hours, the country regis-tered a record 27,444 new infections to bring its total num-ber of positive cases to 3,576,148.
Covid-19 has killed more than 84,000 people out of over 3.2 million infections in Iran, according to official figures that authorities admit do not account for all cases.—AFP
