In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, India’s notorious National Investigation Agency (NIA) is carrying out raids at multiple locations in the Kashmir Valley, subjecting the residents to intimidation and harassment.
Officials said on Saturday that the NIA sleuths with the assistance of Indian police and paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel are carrying out searches in Baramulla and Shopian districts.
The probing agency raided the residence of Mushtaq Ahmad Butt at New Colony Fethpora in Baramulla district. Mushtaq is a government employee in the education department. The NIA conducted a raid in the house of Ali Mohammad Butt in Muradpora area of Shopian. Similarly, raids are being conducted in other parts of the valley.
An official told the media that the raids are being conducted in connection with a case already registered at the NIA office.
Meanwhile, a report released by Kashmir Media Service said India is using its dreaded probe agencies like NIA, SIA and Enforcement Directorate as a weapon to suppress the Kashmiris’ struggle for securing their inalienable right to self-determination. “NIA is notorious for implicating Kashmiris in fake cases. Raids by the probing agency have become a norm in IIOJK which are aimed at intimidating those who refuse to toe BJP’s line,” it said.
