In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Employees Movement (JKEM) has said that the Indian oppression contin-ues in the territory and the Indian troops are brutally killing innocent people, destroying their homes and desecrating the bodies of martyrs.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the JKEM spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar paid glowing tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs and said that the blood of Kashmiris would not be al-lowed to go waste.

He said that India was working on a plan to turn the Muslim majority status of the territory into a minority, adding that for the purpose innocent peo-ple were being killed and Indian citizens were set-tled in IIOJK. He asked the United Nations that if it was waiting for the death of the last Kashmiri.

The spokesman said that India had lodged Hur-riyat leaders and thousands of youth in different jails of India and the territory where their lives were in grave danger because they were not being pro-vided hygienic food and proper medical care.

He demanded of the United Nations and the in-ternational community to take notice of the Indian atrocities in IIOJK and give the Kashmiri people their birthright to self-determination so that they could decide their political future by themselves.

He said that implementation of the UN resolu-tions was the only solution to the lingering Kashmir dispute and its amicable settlement would lead to lasting peace in South Asia.—INP
