An Indian army captain committed suicide in Srinagar in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. According to Kashmir Media Service, the army captain committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling of a room at Indian army’s Sharifabad camp on the outskirts of city , Indian officials said.
The officials said the body has been sent for post-mortem to ascertain the cause of death.
Meanwhile, Special Judge National Investigation Agency Jatinder Singh Jamwal has rejected the bail application of Deputy Superintendent Davinder Singh in a case filed against him under black law, lawful Activity of Prevention Act.
According to Kashmir Media Service, after hearing Advocate Iqbal Hussain Butt for the applicant, NIA Special Judge denied the police officer bail without going into details of charges against him.
The judge observed, “keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, I have no hesitation in observing that the applicant cannot be allowed the concession of bail, even for a limited period, in view of the gravity of offenses for which he stands charge-sheeted as also the embargo laid in Section 437 of CrPC and Section 43-D (5) of the UAPA”.
“I have no hesitation in observing that the applicant does not succeed in making out a case for grant of temporary bail,” the judge passed the order without divulging details.—KMS
