IIOJK HC quashes PSA detention of two persons

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court has quashed the illegal detention of two persons booked under black law, Public Safety Act.

Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey while quashing the detention of Mairajuddin Ganai of Srinagar and Muhammad Ilyas Sheikh of Kulgam observed that the detainees were not provided with the materials relied upon by the detaining authority to detain them.

While Mehrajuddin Ganai was booked under an order passed by District Magistrate Srinagar on 22 February 2021, Muhammad Iliyas Sheikh was detained in terms of the detention order dated 19 April 2021 passed by District Magistrate Kulgam.—KMS
