In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the authorities have ordered the premature retirement of nine government employees on the charges of ‘corruption’.

They have been sacked under 226(2) Article of Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Regulations. This article allows the administration to retire government employees in “public interest” at any time upon completing 22 years of service or attaining the age of 48 years.

All the employees belong to the housing and urban development department. “The employees are retired with a three-month notice or three months of pay. However, they retain pensionary benefits,” reads an official order.—KMS
