The Islamabad High Court has issued a notice to the Election Commission of Pakistan regarding petitions against the non-issuance of certified forms and other documents related to the election results following the general elections.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq of the Islamabad High Court heard the applications of candidates Salman Akram Raja and Shoaib Shaheen, who participated as members of the National Assembly in the recent general elections. The Chief Justice remarked that obtaining certified forms is the legal right of the applicants. He directed that the same order given on Shoaib Shaheen’s application be applied to Salman Akram Raja’s application as well.
These forms must be issued by the Election Commission itself, whether today or within ten days. The court adjourned the hearing and issued a notice to the Election Commission to file its reply by Wednesday.
