The Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, hosted the Winter Immersion Program 2024 at its City Campus, a four-day initiative designed to elevate entrepreneurship education in academia. Organized in collaboration with IBA’s Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (IBA-CED), the program featured internationally acclaimed trainers addressing the significance of entrepreneurship education, research, and incubation management.
Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA Karachi, inaugurated the program with a keynote address emphasizing the urgent need to reform academic curricula to match the rapidly evolving landscape of entrepreneurship. “Workshops like these inspire participants to think creatively and stay ahead of emerging business trends,” he remarked.
The program featured two workshops led by seasoned international experts: Facilitated by Dr. Sanna Ilonen and Joachim Ramstrom, experts from the University of Turku, Finland, this workshop equipped university faculty, incubation center staff, and media professionals with strategies to design and deliver impactful entrepreneurship courses.
Conducted by Islam Mohamed, Chief Investment Officer of Arweqah Al Reyadah, Saudi Arabia, the session emphasized practical skills for developing and managing university-based business incubators. During her closing remarks, Dr. Lalarukh Ejaz, Director of IBA-CED, commended the speakers and participants, noting, “This program addresses a critical gap by fostering knowledge exchange and structured discourse among universities and incubators.”
Through interactive discussions, case studies, and expert lectures, the Winter Immersion Program 2024 provided an enriching learning experience. The event reaffirmed IBA Karachi’s commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and impactful global collaboration.
