Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday said that the PDM is aggrieved after the flop show on resignations and the long march that’s why now everyone in the unnatural alliance is beating their own trumpet.
“There is a rift between the princess, prince and Maulana and the gang of hypocrites will never resign although they are making tall claims”, the SACM pointed out, adding that thieves and looters cannot take out long march. She said these people will contest by-elections and participate in Senate elections as well. Dr Firdous said that people are enjoying the jokes of political clowns. “PDM elements should be ashamed of themselves as the negative politics of those who scored political points on corona have come to its logical end.”
Meanwhile, the special assistant to chief minister said that the government is committed to resolve longstanding issues and problems of the journalists on a priority basis. Media is a mirror of society and highlights problems of the society adding that the voice of journalists is voice of the people.
SACM Dr Firdous was addressing the Federal Executive Council of Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ) at Lahore Press Club on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Firdous said the Punjab government provided financial assistance to journalists who became the victim of corona pandemic. She said the government is bringing a new media policy in which views of the journalists will be taken into consideration. The proposal to construct media tower and training academy for the journalists will be presented in the next ADP, she further said.
The Special Assistant said the government and journalists are two wheels of a car that provide guidance and assistance to each other in the journey of public welfare. While the government is serious in resolving the problems of media, journalists should also acknowledge and promote government’s point of view, she further said.
Dr Firdous said the PTI came to power with the slogan of change and Prime Minister Imran Khan was striving hard to fulfil the promise of institutional reforms in the country. She said that media is also an institution but the interests of media workers and media owners are different adding that speaking with one voice on the issues that matter the most will benefit the whole journalist community.
The SACM said that flower petals were showered on Shehbaz Sharif during his appearance in NAB and an accused was presented as a hero. She said it is very unfortunate that in our society, people convicted by the courts flash victory signs adding that these former rulers robbed the innocent people and looted the national exchequer.
She said that November is gone, December is gone and even half of the January has passed but nothing has happened as claimed by the Maryam Nawaz, adding that defeat is the fate of PDM. She said that PDM is an alliance of corrupt politicians who apparently are united but often in clash with one another. If all the parties that are part of PDM are united then why they don’t unanimously agree for a suitable candidate in the Senate elections, she further said.
