LAHORE – Double-decker bus service remains famously associated with Lahore, known for promoting tourism among the people.

These buses offer scenic views of landmarks in the cultural capital of the country, enhancing urban transit and tourism while contributing to the unique character of each location.

In first phase, five new hybrid double-decker buses were launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. The project aims to showcase Lahore’s rich history and cultural landmarks, these eco-friendly buses will operate from Gaddafi Stadium, covering key attractions including Walled City of Lahore, Fort Road Food Street, and Punjab Stadium.

These buses are of 66 passengers, featuring 48 seats on the upper deck and 18 on the lower deck. The double-decker service, initially introduced in November 2015 by former Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, aims to enhance the tourist experience by providing a unique way to explore the city’s hidden gems.

In addition to Lahore, plans are in place to expand this service to other major cities in Punjab, with Bahawalpur and Rawalpindi set to receive their own double-decker buses. Future expansions to Multan and Faisalabad are also being considered.

This initiative not only aims to promote tourism across the province but also highlights Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.
