The High Court of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has quashed the illegal detention of nine persons under black law Public Safety Act (PSA) and directed their release.
The detainees Hilal Ahmad, Riyaz Ahmad Mir, Shahid Majeed Dar, Showkat Ahmed Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmad Butt, Javid Ahmad Lone, Mohammad Sulaiman Khan, Sameer Ahmad Malla and Anjum Bashir Mir were detained by the Districts Magistrates of Baramulla, Pulwama, Srinagar, Islamabad, Kupwara, Bandipora and Shopian for their pro-freedom activities.
The court while quashing the detention orders of the detainees, asked the authorities to set them free.—KMS
