A fire broke out on Sunday evening at Cooperative Market near Regal Chowk in Karachi’s Saddar area, according to police officials.
The police, rescue workers and fire officials reached the spot after being informed of the incident. According to several media outlets, almost four fire engines along with firefighting teams from different fire stations were responding to the fire.
The TV broadcasted images from outside the multi-storey market, showing the entrances to the building completely engulfed in flames and smoke.

leading to and from Cooperative Market have been blocked. The Cooperative Market houses several shops selling a host of items ranging from clothes to electronic products.
The cause of the fire was not immediately clear. However, reports from the spot suggested that it had already damaged several shops causing huge financial losses.
