Independent candidate Haleem Adil Sheikh, supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has taken legal action by challenging the election results of NA-238 in the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday. According to the petition filed in the SHC, Sheikh claimed that he secured over 71,000 votes as per Form 45.
However, discrepancies arose when the results were altered in Form 47, leading to the declaration of MQM-P candidate Sadiq Iftikhar as the winner. Sheikh urged the court to suspend the victory notification of Iftikhar pending further investigation. The challenge comes after Haleem Adil Sheikh faced defeat against MQM-P candidate Sadiq Iftikhar in NA-238 by a margin of 54,000 votes. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has released unofficial results.
