The working president of Indian National Congress in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Raman Bhalla, has said that the ground situation in the territory is contrary to the claims of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership about colossal development and lasting peace.

Raman Bhalla and other party leaders visited Kathua Jail to meet the Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS) activists who have been arrested by the police during protests for abolition of a toll Plaza at Sarore in Jammu. However, they were not allowed to meet the detainees prompting them to protest outside the jail.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said the BJP is snatching everything from the people of the territory. He said occupied Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed huge setbacks due to the revocation of special status by the BJP government including seizing of jobs, land, and suppression of political and civil rights.—KMS
