The newly formed government in Sindh is gearing up for a significant overhaul in the police department and civil administration, with Ghulam Nabi Memon poised to reclaim the role of Inspector-General of Police (IGP). Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has proposed Ghulam Nabi Memon for the position of Sindh IGP, a move that has received approval from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leadership.

In parallel, Asif Haider Shah has been selected as the top candidate for the position of Sindh Chief Secretary. Shah brings a wealth of experience, having previously served as Commissioner in Karachi and Hyderabad. Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of law and order in both rural and urban areas of the province, CM Shah highlighted the urgent need for reform.

He acknowledged the alarming security situation, particularly in Karachi and the riverine belt, and emphasized the necessity for substantial changes in both the police department and district administrations. The chief minister outlined plans for a comprehensive reshuffle, indicating that significant adjustments would also be made in district administrations following the formation of his cabinet subsequent to the presidential election.
