Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori stated that International Anti-Corruption Day serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility to eradicate corruption from society. He praised the unwavering commitment of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Karachi, acknowledging the commendable steps the bureau has taken to combat corruption.
He expressed these views while addressing a seminar organized by NAB at Governor’s House titled “The Role of Accountability in Governance.” The seminar was attended by NAB Karachi Director-General Javed Akbar Riaz, former Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan Ishrat Hussain, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Ahmed Shah, and others.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori further remarked that the achievements of NAB Karachi in 2024 have been exemplary. The bureau has established effective communication with various stakeholders.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori emphasized the importance of accountability, stating that while it is essential to hold individuals accountable, there is also a need for improvement in attitudes.
Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori stressed that unless the public has trust in those who enforce accountability, it will be meaningless.
For the country’s development, he stated, everyone must play their role, and it is crucial to educate the younger generation to build a corruption-free society.
