Amidst allegations of a plot to foment discord between the public and the armed forces, Governor Sindh Mohammad Kamran Khan Tessori, in a press conference at Governor House here on Thursday, praised the nation’s unity in the face of adversity following the May 9 incident. He lauded the Pakistani military for its restraint and resilience during the crisis, urging acknowledgment of their exemplary conduct. Governor Tessori underscored public and military collaboration in thwarting the alleged scheme, noting widespread recognition of the armed forces’ integrity.
He called for the Supreme Court to hold those accountable for the May 9 incident, stressing its significance for both the public and the military. Addressing concerns about the spread of animosity, Governor Tessori urged those responsible for spreading hatred to seek forgiveness from the nation and the families of martyrs.
He criticized those tarnishing the spirit of reconciliation with derogatory remarks. Responding to questions, Governor Tessori highlighted various developmental initiatives undertaken by the Sindh government, including the construction of six lakh homes in collaboration with the World Bank. He commended Bilawal Bhutto’s efforts in healthcare, citing exemplary projects in ICT and health sectors. Regarding law and order, Governor Tessori expressed confidence in the Sindh government’s measures to restore peace, predicting a significant reduction in crime in the coming days.
He emphasized the universality of his approach, advocating for collective efforts towards national progress. In a final note, Governor Tessori extolled the Pakistani military as the cornerstone of national security, stressing the obligation to honor and respect their service for the nation’s well-being.
