KARACHI – Gold prices saw a slight increase in local market on Tuesday while the prices remained unchanged in the international market.
According to the Sarafa Association, the price of the precious metal surged by Rs300 per tola to settle at Rs219,600.
Similarly, the price of per 10-gram gold went up by Rs258 to reach Rs188,272. In the international market, the gold price remained stable at $2,072 per ounce.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) extended losses on Tuesday as the benchmark 100-index plunged over 1,600 points during intraday trading on Tuesday.
As of 1:37pm, the benchmark index dipped to a low of 60,061.54 points during the intraday trading, down by 1,643.55 points or 2.66%.
It comes as investors have adopted dump and run approach with some opted to book profit in various sectors, which resulted in the market falling in the red.
Experts believe that the PSX would make a rebound in January 2024.
