Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has said that the incumbent government headed by the Prime Minister Imran Khan has with the introduction and promulgation of policies for the economy is ensuring fast track development in the country and the goals of prosperity are nearing as well. The overall impacts of such policies and dedication, salient changes can be witnessed on the front of cultural, social and developmental sites.
The governor also asserted that the determination of the incumbent government and with the promulgation of certain policies have brought salient improvements in the overall law and order situation.
He said that in order to address the issues of the port city of Karachi, the PM has announced a package for the city to the tune of Rs162 billion.
He was addressing the participants of the 21st National Security Workshop of the National Defense University, Thursday. Senators, members of the National and Provincial Assembly, representatives of country’s armed forces, senior bureaucrats and representatives of the civil society attended.
He said that Pakistan has sacrificed more than any country in fight against terror, which has inflicted colossal loss to Pakistan’s national exchequer tio the tune of US$ 250 billion while more than 70, 000 Pakistanis, both from military sides and the civilians fell victim of the war against terror.
The Governor said that peaceful Afghanistan was in Pakistan’s interest and it also affected regional peace and hence Pakistan has been very active on this aspect so as to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan and make the region peaceful. Pakistan is assisting the stakeholders in their efforts for lasting peace and tranquility in Afghanistan, the Governor added.
He categorically slammed India under Modi’s rule over revoking the article 370 and thus claiming the India Occupied Jammu and Kashmir as integrated part of India but the later would never be successful. India has to lift the curfew and once the curfew was lifted, the situation would be entirely puzzling to India.
The Governor felicitated the PM for his historic address to the UN General Assembly and for making the international community aware of the real facts about IOJ&K.
He lauded the role of the armed forces of the country, paramilitary Rangers, FC, Police and other LEAs in reversing the lawlessness in Karachi.
The Governor said that the current government is facing many challenges. The government is ensuring an economic reform which has started yielding positive impacts while the income tax net is also increasing. The market has witnessed a sharp decline in the current account deficit and the current trade deficit.
He said that the present government is working day and night for basic services to the people adding that inflation, unemployment and other problems are temporary.
