Genocide of Palestinians

ACCORDING to the BBC, life in Israel is back to normal because Israel was among one of the few countries that started the campaign of corona vaccination in December.

In February, Israel relaxed its lockdown restrictions as studies revealed that its vaccine program was successful in preventing hospitalizations and deaths.
On the contrary, the number of corona cases in Palestine is increasing dangerously.

According to the data released by WHO, more than 251,600 confirmed coronavirus cases have been recorded, with more than 2,670 deaths among Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. Criticism of Israel is growing day by day due to the deteriorating health situation in Palestine.

According to a statement issued by the United Nations (UN), it is Israel’s duty to provide Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank with equal access to Covid-19 vaccinations.

MSF is an organization that provides medical care to people in the Palestinian territories from 1989 According to them another strong wave of COVID-19 has passed through the West Bank, Palestine, since February.

About 20,000 people are being cared for the new coronavirus, putting even more strain on an increasingly frail healthcare system and making it difficult for doctors to provide proper treatment.

Both the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority must step up their attempts to halt the proliferation of COVID-19 and its current versions as soon as possible. COVID-19 reduction and case handling programs must be stepped up as well.

The first shipment of vaccines from the Covax programme, which aims to help developing countries has arrived in the West Bank and Gaza.

According to UNICEF, 37,440 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and 24,000 doses of Astra Zeneca vaccine have been distributed.

The multinational Covax programme, which is funded by the WHO, is expected to cover up to 20% of Palestinian vaccination needs.

The Palestinians have obtained some vaccines in small amounts from other sources. A shipment of 10,000 doses of Russian-made vaccine arrived, with 2,000 doses being sent to Gaza. The UAE has also contributed 20,000 Russian vaccine doses to Gaza.

Palestinians obtained 100,000 doses of Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine from China on Monday to help expand an original vaccination program targeting medical personnel, the sick, and the critically ill.

(Source: Reuters)According to a health ministry statement, more than 69,000 Palestinians have received their first injection of the vaccine, and about 7,600 have received both vaccines.

According to a recent World Bank estimate, the Palestinians would need more financial and logistical assistance in order to cover 60% of the population.

It is the responsibility of the international community to pressurize Israel to fulfil its responsibility in this regard.

Otherwise corona can be used to genocide Palestinians. We can trace enough evidences from the history.
