Following the decision of Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) and other Sindh-friendly parties, Pir Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashdi has directed GDA and Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) workers to stage peaceful protests on September 19 against proposed amendments to the IRSA laws, which would allow the extraction of six canals from the Indus River.
PML-F Sindh General Secretary and GDA Information Secretary Sardar Abdul Rahim said the protests are aimed at opposing “conspiracies designed in the President House to turn Sindh barren” by extracting additional water from the Indus River. Peaceful protests will take place in front of press clubs across all districts of Sindh, including Karachi Press Club.
Rahim added that these protests will include participation from multiple political groups, including PML-F, Sindh United Party, QaumiAwamiTehreek, Sindh TaraqiPasand Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), JamiatUlema-e-Islam (JUI), Jamaat-e-Islami, Jeay Sindh Mahaz, National People’s Party, Pakistan People’s Party Workers, and AwamiJamhoori Party, along with large numbers of the general public.
He emphasized that PirPagara has always stood for the protection of Sindh’s interests and prioritized the fight for Sindh’s rights. Rahim vowed that the people of Sindh would once again stand united to defend their rights at any cost.
