Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan the funeral of Police Constable Sarwar Shah, who was martyred by unknown assailants in Peshawar on Wednesday. The funeral prayer was held at Police Lines Peshawar, where the chief minister laid a floral wreath on the martyr’s coffin. He was accompanied by CCPO Peshawar Muhammad Ali Khan and other police officials.
The chief minister condemned the attack on the policeman, saying that such acts were deplorable. He prayed to Allah to elevate the martyr’s rank and grant patience to his family. He also acknowledged the police force’s enduring sacrifices in safeguarding the lives and property of the people. He expressed pride in the province’s residents for their sacrifices, and assured that the provincial government would stand by the martyr’s family, offering unwavering support.
The attack on Police Constable Sarwar Shah occurred when he was on his way to duty with two other policemen. Unknown assailants on a bike opened fire on them, killing Sarwar Shah on the spot.
The police have launched an investigation into the attack and are trying to track down the assailants. The martyrdom of Police Constable Sarwar Shah is a reminder of the dangers faced by law enforcement officers every day.
