Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi awards a big gift for the residents of Rawalpindi. A signal-free corridor will be built from PirwadhaiMor up to KutcheryChowk. 3 underpasses and 2 protected U- turns will be built under the project. On the direction of CM, construction and extension of Asghar Mall Road will be undertaken. MohsinNaqvi laid the foundation stone of the signal-free corridor project from PirwadhaiMor up to KutcheryChowk.
7.6 km long signal-free corridor mega project will cost rupees 8.2 billion and will reduce traffic load on the busiest intersections of Rawalpindi.CM apprised that we are resolving long overdue traffic problems in Rawalpindi on a permanent basis.
A single barrel underpass at Qasim Market and double barrel underpasses at GPO Chowk and PC Chowk will be built. MohsinNaqvi launched the construction work at the Asghar Mall Road.
Asghar Mall Road is being reconstructed stretching from Murree Road up to Chungi Number 04. MohsinNaqvi vowed that we would strive to the utmost to complete Asghar Mall Road before the stipulated timeline.
The cleaning of local locality sewerage lines surrounding the road will be ensured so that the locality water does not accumulate on the road. The citizens had to face a lot of hassle due to Asghar Mall Road being located in the densely populated area of the city. CM maintained that traffic problems in the city will be resolved with the repair and rehabilitation of link roads.CM was given a briefing about both the projects.Provincial Ministers SM Tanveer, Doctor JavedAkram, Amir Mir, Doctor Jamal Nasir, Ibrahim Hassan Murad, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D Board, Secretaries of C&W, Health, Local government, Industries, Commissioner Rawalpindi, RPO, Deputy Commissioner and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
