Free Wifi Service in Lahore

Punjab Chief Minister expressed satisfaction with implementation of free WiFi at designated spots as she reaffirms her commitment to delivering on promises. She announced the launch of free WiFi at 50 spots in Lahore, with plans for expansion across the city.

The decision to initiate this pilot project was made during a recent meeting between the Chief Minister and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) officials. The PITB has been tasked with upgrading existing infrastructure, including hotspots, to support seamless internet services.

Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has been directed by CM to prioritize the deployment of free WiFi services in educational institutions, airports, railway stations, and bus stands.

This initiative is expected to benefit 516 locations in Lahore, significantly enhancing internet accessibility for residents. Free WiFi services project was first launched by PML-N government in 2013 but discontinued by the PTI government due to unpaid bills.
