ISLAMABAD – The federal government has decided to prove free electric bikes to the top performing students of the federal board.

The announcement was made in a meeting chaired by Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain regarding the Electric Vehicles Policy. The meeting reviewed the progress of the construction of 40 charging stations on motorways and national highways.

The federal minister appreciated the work of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and directed that charging stations be installed at all petrol pumps.

Who is Eligible for Free Electric Bikes?

It was decided in the meeting that free electric bikes will be provided to the top 120 students of the federal board. Additionally, it was decided to offer 39,000 electric bikes and 1,900 rickshaws on concessional loans.

Rana Tanveer said Islamabad will be developed into a model city in line with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision. He added that the Electric Vehicles Policy will be announced soon.

Punjab Bikes Scheme for Students

Earlier, Punjab government has announced a scheme to provide electric and petrol motorcycles to college and university students on easy installments.
