Four teams participating in Ignite’s Cybersecurity Hackathons have qualified for the prestigious Black Hat MEA (Middle East & Africa) 2023 competition scheduled to be held in Saudi Arabia in November 2023.
The four Pakistani finalists set to compete among 250 teams from across the globe includeAirOverflow, Griffyns, Sudoers, and Lexicans. The total prize money for the competition is SAR 700,000.
Black Hat, a well-established leader in cybersecurity events and infosec training for over two decades worldwide, launched Black Hat Middle East & Africa (MEA) in 2022 engage talent from this region.
In his felicitation message, CEO Ignite, Asim Shahryar Husain, said it a proud moment for the country, and particularly so for Ignite that four of our teams have been ranked in the top 50 teams from amongst more than thousand globally. This shows Pakistan’s talent and potential incybersecurity.
Over the past two years, Ignite has made significant contributions to Pakistan’s cybersecurity community by launching Digital Pakistan Cybersecurity hackathons in different cities. The involves cybersecurity events, hands-on training workshops, and competitions built on real-world scenarios. The purpose is to engage, train, assess, and then recognize the talent at the national level.
