ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister of Pakistan has approved appointment of several new ambassadors, and foreign secretaries in a recent shake-up.
It has been learnt that Amna Baloch, who is currently Pakistan’s ambassador to the European Union, will take ew role as next Foreign Secretary.
Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch will Pakistan’s new ambassador to France. Janbaz Khan will be assigned as ambassador to Brunei Darussalam.
Muhammad Saleem will take the role of Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada, while Malik Farooq will take on the role of High Commissioner to South Africa, moving from his current position as Pakistan’s ambassador to Kuwait.
Mumtaz Zahra Baloch
Baloch is currently holding covered position of Spokesperson and Additional Foreign Secretary (Strategic Communications Division & Public Diplomacy).
In her glittering career, she held roles include Ambassador to South Korea, Deputy Head of Mission in China, and Counselor for Political Affairs in Washington DC. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms.Baloch held various senior positions, including Additional Foreign Secretary (Asia & Pacific) and Director roles in several divisions.
A bureaucrat par excellence, Zehra studied Physics, International Relations, and European Studies and Public Administration from top institutions in Pakistan, US, and France.
