A fire broke out in the conference room of the Revenue Recovery (RRJ) department at Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation’s (KW&SC) Karasaz office, caused by a short circuit in the air conditioning system. The fire was quickly controlled, with initial efforts from Water Corporation vehicles, followed by two fire tenders from the fire brigade.
A spokesperson for the Water Corporation confirmed that there were no casualties and no damage to records. They further clarified that the corporation’s entire record is computerized and securely stored in relevant divisions. The reports claiming that records were destroyed in the fire were dismissed as false.
