LAHORE – New Zealand opener Finn Allen and fast bowler Adam Milne have been ruled out of the five-match T20I series against Pakistan.

Finn Allen suffered a back strain while Adam Milne sustained an ankle injury during training season ahead of the team’s departure for Pakistan for the T20I series.

Experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Tom Blundell and uncapped allrounder Zak Foulkes will replace injured Finn Allen and Adam Milne. Blundell has played consistently for New Zealand in red-ball cricket. Uncapped Foulkes has performed well for Canterbury for the last three seasons both with the bat and the ball.

New Zealand key players were already not available for the Pakistan tour due to their IPL commitments and other personal reasons.

Michael Bracewell will lead the Blackcaps in the five-match T20I series starting on April 18.

Babar Azam will lead the Green Shirts while Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim have returned to the side after withdrawing retirement from international cricket.
