Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Establishment Division Ahad Khan Cheema met Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman. During the meeting, ways and means to increase foreign direct investment and local investment were discussed. Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that foreign direct investment (FDI) and local investors, especially new investors, should be encouraged in Pakistan. The Punjab Governor said that the officials of the government departments should serve the people and treat them with courtesy.
Governor Punjab said that the federal government should play a vital role to meet the needs of finance in the universities of Punjab. He said that during the three-and-a-half-year tenure of the previous government from 2018 to 2022, reducing the education budget led to an increase in the number of out-of-school children and reduction in the budget of many universities led to deficits.
On this occasion, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Ahad Khan Cheema vowed to make his best efforts for boosting the economy of the country.
