ISLAMABAD – Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam- Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed doubts on Thursday regarding the new National Assembly’s ability to complete its five-year term.

“It’s not an assembly, it’s something else,” said Maulana Fazl while responding to the query of a journalist. He was asked the question on his way to the inaugural session.

When asked about his sentiments upon returning to the assembly, the journalist inquired further, to which Maulana Fazlur Rehman promptly replied, “If things go like this, I don’t think so.”

The JUI-F chief participated in the assembly session and took the oath of office.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, he visited Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani’s chamber, where he was congratulated on assuming his role.

During his visit, IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan, BAP leader Khalid Magsi, Mirza Muhammad Afridi, and others also greeted Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the chamber.

Just a day earlier, the leaders from different parties reached the residence of Maulana Fazl and tried to convince him to vote for the upcoming elections of the prime minister and the president.  Fazl responded that he would deliberate this matter.
