Families of custodial victims reject so-called compensation, demand punishment to soldiers

Families and relatives of three civilians martyred in Indian army’s custody have rejected the so-called compensation by the occupation authorities and called for stern punishment to the Indian troops involved in the gruesome killing of innocent people.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in order to douse flames of brewing anger across Poonch and Rajouri districts as well as other parts o the occupied territory against the killing, the local proxy of Modi-led India government on Saturday announced so-called compensation for the victims.

“The death of three civilians was reported yesterday in Baffliaz of Poonch District. The medico legal formalities were conducted and legal action in this matter has been initiated by the appropriate authority,” the Public Relations Department of the occupation administration said in a post on X.

Indian troops arrested Safeer Hussain, Mohammed Showkat and Shabbir Ahmed during a cordon and search operation and killed them in custody in Bafliaz area of Poonch district, yesterday.—KMS
