Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that welfare of destitute and disenfranchised strata is the responsibility of the government and every effort is being made to bring the less privileged segment of the society in the mainstream.
These views were expressed by the Special Assistant to CM while addressing a press conference flanked by Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari and Ameen Bait-ul-Maal Malik Muhammad Azam at 90-SQA on Wednesday.
Talking to media, Dr Firdous said the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken a lot of initiatives for the welfare of less privileged segments of the society. She said the former governments intentionally kept away destitute and indigents from the benefits of development and progress however, the incumbent government under the leadership of PM Imran Khan has supported the weak segment of the society.
The Special Assistant said the fake princess raised false accusation against the PTI while following the dictates of Israel & India at the puppet show of PDM. She said that Imran Khan’s stance on Israel is clear and valid adding that the PM openly criticized Israeli policies at every international forum and spoke on behalf of the Pakistani people.
Dr Firdous said that Mariyam Nawaz is forgetting that the Hindu supremacist Modi came to Jati Umra to attend the wedding ceremony of her daughter and Nawaz Sharif’s granddaughter without any visa and diplomatic protocols and Nawaz Sharif wore the pink turban gifted to him by Modi. “What bigger link is there between Modi and the Sharif family?” she questioned.
The SACM said that PDM should show some patience and wait for the general elections instead of protesting on the streets because the government would complete its constitutional tenure and no one would be allowed to block the journey of development.
Dr Firdous said that apparently Mariyam Nawaz is protesting against the Chief Election Commissioner but in reality she is pointing fingers and protesting against her own uncle Shehbaz Sharif because the Chief Election Commissioner was appointed after consultation with leader of the opposition Shehbaz Sharif.
While mocking the attendance at the PDM rally outside the election commission office, the SACM said that people of Pakistan are fed up with PDM’s narrative adding that the political drama of PDM has come to an end. The planned long march of PDM is doomed to fail, she added. Responding to a question, the Special Assistant said that Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman is making hue and cry just for lust of power adding that hullabaloo of Maulana will increase after NAB’s inquiry against him in assets beyond means case. She said the nation wants to know when Maulana will raise his voice in favor of innocent Palestinians and challenges Modi for his atrocities against the Kashmiris.
