The deputy managing director of Chabahar Free Zone Organization (CFZO) said that export from this zone rose 40 percent during the first six months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-Septemebr 22), as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
Mohammad Hodaei, the deputy head of the CFZO for economic and investment making affairs, said that the presence of active investors and benefitting from the capacity of Chabahar free zone have led to the growth of economic activities and export from this zone.
He also announced that the number of production units, that export their products, has increased 37 percent in the first half of the present year, from that of the previous year.
Lying on the coast of the Gulf of Oman in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan Province, Chabahar is the country’s only oceanic port and given its strategic location in the International North-South Transport Corridor. —Tehran Times
