KARACHI – PTI-backed candidates are leading in the closely watched Elections race however the party lamented state interference in the polling process, and now staged protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) provincial office in Karachi along with TLP, and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).

PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami staged sit-in protests outside ECP office, demanding a thorough review of the results as party candidates expressed concerns over unusual results during the general election 2024.

JI further submitted formal requests to ECP for Form 45, raising concerns about fairness of the polls.

As results continue to delay – even after 48 hours of polling conclusion, political parties staged protest outside ECP’s provincial office.

To counter political forces, heavy contingent of law enforcement is around ECP office.

For the unversed, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf bagged 90 of 115 seats in the northwestern KP province and is looking for alliance with other parties against political bigwigs.
