The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is all set to meet today (June 7) to see the Zil Hajj crescent, which will determine the date for the Eidul Adha 2024 in Pakistan.
The meeting would be chaired by Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad in Karachi.
The Eid festival is celebrated by Muslims across the country on the 10th of Zil Hajj.
Eid ul Adha 2024 Prediction
Met Office shared prediction for Eidul Adha to be celebrated in the country on June 17 (Monday). As per the prediction, Zilhajj moon is expected to be sighted on June 7 (Friday), leading to Eidul Azha on June 17 (Monday).
As per the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid ul-Adha falls on the 10th Dhu al-Hijja – the twelfth and final month.
The moon will rise at 5:38pm on June 6, and sunset is expected at 7:20 PM. The moon will likely be visible for 72 minutes after sunset.
Eidul Adha 2024 Holidays in Pakistan
According to 2024 holiday calendar, the holidays will be observed from June 17 to 19 on account of Eidul Fitr. Technically, the holidays will begin from June 15 as most of the government offices remain closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
In case, the Eidul Adha falls on June 18, it is expected that the schedule for holidays would be revised. The federal government will issue a notification days before the Eidul Adha 2024 in this regard.
