Caretaker Minister for Information, Minority Affair and Social Protection Mu Muhammad Ahmed Shah has said that caretaker provincial government believes in freedom of expression and is ensuring the same.
This he said while talking with a delegation of All Pakistan Newspaper Society Sindh Committee, led by Syed Sarmad Ali. Director General Public Relation Information Department Muhammad Saleem Khan was also present on the occasion.
The delegation members apprised caretaker Minister Information about the dues of newspaper, advertisement to specially regional papers and other related issues.Caretaker Minister for Information, Minority Affair and Social Protection Mu Muhammad Ahmed Shah Government was endeavoung to resolve the matter of payment of dues to print media. “I have issued clear instructions to Information department to ensure transport distribution of specially display advertisements to print media, as thousands of workers are employed there”, he added.
He asked publications to ensure timely payment of salaries to their employees so as to encourage them to work with even more zeal and dedication. He said that during the election campaign of forthcoming elections, it was the responsibility of publications to ensure fact base news so as to guide the voters to choose their representatives. “Newspaper have no restriction on publishing news, analysis and articles which is a proof that caretaker government respects freedom of press”.he added.
The delegation members thanked caretaker Minister Information for listening to their issues patiently and for his assurance to resolve the same. The delegation members included Chairman Sindh Committee Javed Shamsi, Executive Committee members Muhammad Younis Mehar, Zahida Abbasi, Rafiq Ahmed Pirzada, Imtiaz Qazi and Mumtaz Ahmed Phulpoto.
