DUBAI – Taxi is considered as an everyday transportation in Dubai as you can navigate the UAE city effortlessly, avoiding jam-packed metro trains.
Taxi ride is comparatively costlier but it saves the time and offer reliable service. Thousands of passengers use the taxi on daily basis to travel to the work places or shopping centres.
Petrol prices have been increasing in the UAE till May 2024 during this year. The price of Special 95, for example, was Dh2.71 per litre in January but it was Dh3.22 per litre in May 2024, up by 51 fils since the start of the year.

According to Dubai Taxi Company PJSC (DTC) website, the per kilometre charge for taxis in Dubai is now Dh2.09 after witnessing an increase of 12 fils.

The UAE government provided relief to masses in June 2024 as it dropped by petrol and diesel prices by 20 fils per litre as the existing price of Super 98 petrol stands at AED 3.14 per litre while Special 95 petrol is being sold for Dhs3.02 per litre.
Similarly, the price of E-plus 91 petrol stands at Dhs2.95 per litre while diesel price stands at Dhs2.88 per litre.
As the government is expected to further decrease the petrol prices for July 2024, the taxi companies are also likely to drop the per kilometers charges accordingly from next month.
