After eight days into testing positive for Covid-19, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has been taken to Surgical Tower of Mayo Hospital for Chest CT Scan after he exhibited minor symptoms.
The CM was taken to AVH Ward after his chest scan was conducted where senior professor Asad Aslam carried out his medical checkup as well.
CM Buzdar developed negligible chest pain, and difficulty in breathing, Professor Dr Aslam noted to which he suggested a CT Scan on the recommendation of pulmonologist.
Seeing his CT Scan report, the professor said it was satisfactory. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar tested positive for the novel coronavirus earlier last week after which he quarantined himself and exhibited minor symptoms.
Sources said Usman Buzdar had undergone a test for COVID-19 and the results came out positive. He quarantined himself at home after testing positive for the infection.
The senior doctors of the Mayo Hospital declared the health of Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar as satisfactory after a detailed check-up at the hospital. In this regard, the CM has stated in a statement issued on Wednesday that his health condition is improving and thanked the people for their prayers. He also appealed to the citizens to follow SOPs to save their lives as the second corona wave is critical.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar condoled the death of Maj-Gen (r) Hadayat Ullah Khan Niazi, father-in-law of Chairman Roze News Sardar Khan Niazi. In a statement, the CM extended sympathies to the heirs and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
Meanwhile, as part of the vision articulated by Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) Azfar Manzoor, PITB has initiated the “Partners in Development” program to promote Public-Private Partnership. The programs aims at supporting the local software industry by engaging them in public sector software development work with special emphasis on digitally powered public services.
In this regard, PITB’s Software Engineering Wing arranged a conference with 14 pre-qualified software houses from the private sector for deliberation on the appropriate collaboration framework. The idea is to engage the private sector in public sector digitization through Staff Augmentation which will help the private sector companies to diversify their portfolio and strengthen their eligibility to successfully target and win international business.
According to Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Country`s annual (2019-20) IT remittances are $1.23 billion while Indian National Association of Software & Services Companies (Nasscom) says that Indian IT sector generated $191 billion for the same period. According to Industry experts, Pakistan’s IT sector has the potential to increase exports to an estimated $10 billion by 2025.
