DG Rangers Sindh presides over security meeting for elections

A high-level meeting presided by the DG Rangers Sindh, Major General Azhar Waqas, was convened on Thursday to assess the security situation in Karachi, particularly focusing on the arrangements for the upcoming general elections. The meeting included participation from the IG Police, Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh, Additional IG Karachi, Special Secretary Home Department, Secretary Services General Administration & Coordination Department, Commissioner Karachi, police officials, Rangers, and representatives from sensitive institutions.

During the meeting, law enforcement agencies conducted a detailed review of the measures taken across the province to ensure security during the general elections. A comprehensive action plan was approved, emphasizing the need for joint flag marches and sniper checking by Rangers and Police during the general elections. It was decided that Sindh Rangers would play a pivotal role as a response force in the area.

The meeting underscored the importance of ensuring strict compliance with the laws and ethical standards, as outlined by the provincial government and the Election Commission. Stringent actions were pledged against individuals found violating the regulations.
