Desilting of canals continues

In order to ensure reach of irrigational water at tails ends of water channels, de-silting of 17000 kilo meter long canal and distributaries have been started in the Punjab including district Hafizabad under the vision of prosperous farmer and increase in per acre yield.

These views were expressed by the Deputy Commissioner Hafizabad Sundas Irshad while inaugurating desilting campaign started from cleaning of Mehdi Hassan Bhatti distributary near Sukehki feeded from Jhang Branc Canal, on Wednesday. Executive Engineer Canal Hafizabad Division Muzafar Khan and other officers were also accompanied by her.
She said that the Punjab government was taking all possible measures for not only enhancing per acre agriculture production but also for improving socio economic condition of farmers in the Punjab including justify distribution and provision of irrigation water land situated at tails ends of water channels.
